God Is Worth Our Time…

February 23, 2010 by admin 1 Comment

It is tempting to shape God to our liking and to make His Word convenient to obey or ignore. Many people treat God as a stranger on the street with little time to even acknowledge Him daily, but then they cry out for mercy when trials come their way. Often struggles come our way when we seek a path of our own rather than looking for the direction which God provides.

Without God in our lives daily our walk has little purpose and can become very lonely without His direction. The Lord gives each of us special talents to help one another in many different ways but so often we get stuck in the wilderness because we try to serve ourselves rather than properly serving God. Being a Christian does not mean to only obey God when it is convenient nor does it give us the liberty to ignore God’s instruction. The Lord wants us to live a happy and fulfilled life that will help inspire others to do the same while always seeking His direction that guides the steps that we take.

I challenge you today to seek God for your purpose and begin to look for how He is guiding your life through the love of Jesus Christ. Don’t treat God as that stranger on the street because He could be testing you in the next person you meet…amen

Keeping Our Commitments…

February 22, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

In today’s society it is easy to fall like many and take forgranted the commitments which we make with all the loop holes that have been created for us to take the easy way out. When we make a commitment in life there is no turning back or giving in! For if we make a commitment without accepting the bad with the good then we are only setting ourselves up for failure in the future.

Our commitments are only as good as our word and without God in the center they will eventually be broken. When we make a commitment in life it is imperative to look beyond our immediate desires to insure that we are willing to go the extra mile and do whatever it takes to succeed. By holding ourselves accountable to God in our commitments helps give us the strength and wisdom to fulfill what we have set out to do.

For instance it is easy for me to tell someone that I can’t do this but when I take them out of the picture and look to God for the direction which I need to overcome then I am trusting in Him rather than trusting in my own limited capabilities. I challenge you to not take your commitments lightly and learn to place our Lord and Savior in the center of everything you do for He is the only one that can hold it together and see us through…amen

As God Leads We Are To Follow…

February 20, 2010 by admin 4 Comments

When God rescued the Israelites from the Egyptians He carried them through a journey that was to teach them how to follow and obey. This lesson was not only for them at that time but it was a first hand lesson from our Father in Heaven for us to still follow today. It is very important for us to know history but what use is it if we don’t learn to look beyond what we see to hear what God is trying to teach us so we can learn to (not) follow the same path that once led us astray?

It is in our human nature to follow as we have been led but in every step we take as we mature we should be learning to apply our history while seeking God for the wisdom to help direct our steps of the future.

If you notice in the story of Moses in the book of Exodus when the people were set free they did not ask where they were going or check with a travel agent to insure the type of accommodations that were ahead in their destination. They simply wanted out of their suppression and was willing to leave the moment that they were granted the permission to go. One of the first lessons in this was preparing ourselves for what we might be getting ready to go through before we act on our emotions without considering the sacrifice in our daily walk that is required to make something better for our children of the future.

Before the Israelites even got very far the Lord taught us another lesson in how not to get set in our ways for you never know which direction He will guide. The Lord teaches us here how He directs our steps and we should not get upset when something changes our direction. We are to accept our path and to learn to walk in faith however He guides us.

After God teaching us how He is the one that is in control and how He has all powers the Lord went on to teach us another vital lesson in how we are to move in life. If you recall in the book of Exodus the people would stay camped in their location as long as the spirit of God hovered over the tabernacle which gave them the instruction of when to move and when not. This teaches us a vital lesson in our spiritual recognition of how to have peace with God where we have temporarily been placed  while being alert to follow as His Holy Spirit directs.

It is very easy for us in life to become lost in the wilderness and travel in circles to the point that we accept where we are instead of looking at what is holding us back. God has given each of us a promise of love and peace that comes when we learn to seek His will instead of our own. Many times we lose sight of this because we lose our drive when we take our eyes off of God and place them on what we see. It is easy to complain about our circumstances if we are not doing something to make them better and often we become lost in the wilderness because we forget how to rely on God instead of man.

What we see may be mountains but how we climb is by trusting in God one day at a time. For our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ taught us to focus on the day and not to worry about tomorrow. As the apostle Paul taught us in the ship before the storm it is wise to look beyond what we see to hear what needs to be heard…amen

Communicate In Love…

February 19, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

Why is it so hard for us to take time out of our day to compliment or encourage one another? It is very easy to take what we have forgranted until it is gone, and then we look back with regrets for the times that we took forgranted.

Satan wants us to lose touch in this life because he knows how it will rob us in the next. Learning to communicate in love for one another helps us to strengthen our relationships and it allows us to hear how God is working in our lives so we can help encourage each other along the way. It is easy to become discouraged when others won’t listen but this is never a time to give up! This is when we learn to trust God and continue going the extra mile in everything we do because this teaches our children how to live in this world. I challenge you today to not hold back what needs to be said and learn how to communicate in love in everything you do to allow the love of Jesus to shine through…amen

Often in life our problems arise not from what has been said but from what has not been spoken…

Your Greatest Gift…

February 18, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

The greatest gift one person can give another is an introduction to God through the love of Jesus Christ and the time to show that we care. But that gift is often hindered if the believer’s attitude says, “I have the greatest gift to pass on to you”, while acting like you have nothing to give them in return. There is nothing worse than being around someone who thinks they have it all but won’t stop to receive what God may have to share with them in return.

It is easy to stop and listen when Satan entices us with something on the outside but what truly matters is what we receive from God on the inside. We all can learn from each other when we stop focusing on ourselves and begin to look for God in everything we do. I challenge you today to treat everyone you pass by as if this day was your last.

Real Christians give and receive from each other no matter their position in life and this shows the true love of Jesus Christ… amen

Spiritual Revelations

Don’t be like Eli in 1st Samuel and miss something that has been given by God. If you recall with Eli he did not listen because the Word of God was rare in those days and he did not recognize what was taking place until he saw the persistence of Samuel…
