Life Is A Season With Changes To Come

August 7, 2010 by admin 1 Comment

One of the hardest things to do in our human nature is to let go when God is calling us to follow Him instead of what we see. In our flesh we tend to put off what God is instructing us to do because we tend to look at what is involved in making the change. For instance, in the physical we often want to make a change in the shape that we are in but then we fail to follow through due to the effort that is required to achieve the goal. Another example of change is when God is guiding us in the spiritual realm to let go of what we see in the physical to simply trust Him and believe.

Change is something that not only affects ourselves but it has affects on others as well. Often people miss the signs within the change that is coming due to being so focused on their own objectives that they miss the signs that are right before them. Then there are those that recognize the signs but they continue to neglect them because they can’t either except what they see or they fail to understand in whom believe.

Why is that we don’t recognize the hints that God puts all around us until something drastic takes place in the change that is sure to come when we neglect what we have been given? Have you ever wondered why the people stayed in a flood plain when the water was rising? Have you ever experienced something like a small drip in a water main that eventually led to a burst? Or, have you ever been in a relationship that was eventually divided because you were too busy to see what needed to be done?

Change often comes to us in stages and it is imperative to recognize these signs to insure that we maintain the coarse that God provides. A great way to look at life is to recognize how our lives under God are to be constantly growing wherever we are. God gives us everything we have for a season to serve His will in everything we do from our jobs, our relationships, and our homes. Within this season that we are given it helps to not fight against where we are but learn to enjoy what we have for the time that has been given.

It is when we forget that our lives are only hear for a season that we often become stuck in where we are. Always know that within a season here on earth that there is no perfect climate no matter how hard we try to find and the object within a seasonal change is to help others to be prepared for what is sure to come. There is great joy when we begin to see what is taking place in the spirit of God that is guiding us to our eternal resting place.

I challenge you to not become stuck within the season that you have been given and to be alert to the signs that are all around you in order to maintain the love that we have been given in our family and friends…amen

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life”

Enjoy The Journey Of Life

August 5, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

It is very easy to go through our daily routines and become blind to the what God has to offer when we get so wrapped up in the world. Our routines often cause us to function like a robot that moves without life with the direction that someone else said to follow. Life is full of adventure and beauty when we open our eyes to what God has to offer in His spirit which gives us the life to live.

We all travel from time to time from one destination to the next and if you will really pay attention to your surroundings along the Way rather than focusing only on the destination you might be amazed at what you will find. We all tend to focus on where we are going to the point that we miss how God instructed us to get there.

I challenge you today to open your eyes and ears to the life that is around you to not miss something that God has right before you because life is not only about the destination but about the journey…amen

Don’t Allow Satan To Hold You Down

August 3, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

Yesterday, there was a lesson shared from Luke 10 on the Good Samaritan that helped someone that had been pushed aside by the very ones who claimed to follow the Word of God. This Jewish man that was in the ditch had been robbed by thieves as he traveled from one destination to the next. Who do you think was spiritually guiding the thieves to hurt this man that deserved no harm? Who do you think caused the ones to walk on by because they failed to hear another child’s cry?

There is another way to see this message when we look at it in the spiritual eyes of Christ. The man that was traveling was a child of God that Satan set out to destroy. This man can be compared to a woman that has been raped and robbed of her dignity. This man can be compared to a child of God that that has been preyed upon in molestation in order to rob them of their self esteem. This man can be compared to the poor that has been robbed by the rich in order to keep him down due to someone else’s greed, and this man can be compared to someone in the church family that is crying out in their needs while the church neglects their duties of serving the people instead of worrying about where they are going next.

Many of us have experienced pains in our life and some of us have fallen into the ditch at times but all that matters is how we pick ourselves back up again to return to the path that God has given. I challenge you today to not allow Satan to spiritually hold you down anymore in your mind or through others that are trying to rob you of who you are as a child of God!

If you are in a ditch STAND UP and dust yourself off with your hands in the air in just thinking God for how you have been spared! Recognize those that are trying to hold you down and learn to love them to show who you are in Christ to help others along the Way…amen

God Has Placed A Diamond Within You

March 20, 2010 by admin 2 Comments

I once heard a story of a man who owned acres of land with running brooks and rolling hills. He decided one day to sell his land and move away to search  for diamonds in other locations. The couple that purchased his property was walking one day over their land next to the creek when they saw something that caught their eye. As they reached down to pick it up they noticed the sparkle that it carried and was fascinated to the point that they brought the rock into their home and placed it on their mantle.

It was a rather large rock with blemishes and even scratches on the surface but the part that caught their eye was not what they saw on the outside but what they could see sparkling on the inside. For there was something about this rock that caught their attention but until they actually took the time to pick it up and study its configuration this rock still remained just an interesting piece on their mantle.

One day when a guest was visiting their home this rock caught  his attention also. As he picked it up and studied the rock he began to polish the stone and help chip off some of the things that were attached on the outside that obstructed the view of what was on  the inside. This man had an eye that could recognize what type of sparkle that he was holding in his hands and when he was done polishing the stone to their surprise this stone was a diamond in the rough that went on to be one of the largest diamonds on record.

Isn’t this how life is? It is in our human nature to look everywhere else and even give up on what we have just as the original landowner did in this story who sold his land to go search for something that he already had. There are so many lessons in this story that we can apply to our lives and until we learn how to look for what God has placed right before us and within us how can we honestly expect to find it somewhere else?

God has placed treasures all around us and it is very easy to overlook something because of what we see on the outside but it is vital that we learn how to look for what God has given on the inside. In the book of 1 Samuel 16 the Lord said, “For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.”

So many times we fail to search what God has given us just as the farmer and we miss out on the blessings that can be received. Every single individual has a diamond in the rough but it requires attention, time, study, and even polishing with the gentle touch of love that will make it shine beyond mankind. Sometimes things even have to be chipped away because of how they are attached but once this is done in love you will find that it was for its own good. Once we discover the jewel that we carry we must maintain what we have been given by applying the Word of God to our lives daily to increase our values in life as we learn to walk with Jesus Christ.

We never know what we have until we actually take the time to look within ourselves in the Word of God to discover the jewels that we carry and the treasures of love that fills our hearts and souls…amen

Strive In Love…

December 14, 2009 by admin Leave a Comment

It is very easy in our human character to become lazy and only do what it takes to get by. But since when are Christians to drift through life and not strive to make something better in everyday that we are given? Satan wants us to fall weak and complacent in our homes, in our work, in our relationships, and especially in the church to the point that we lose that fire in our first love that keeps us from moving forward.

Love is not something we are to only share with our spouse or our children. Love is something that should be reflected with everyone we meet and in everything we do. When we learn to work for God instead of ourselves it is truly amazing at the joy we will find. Every time you get ready to do something ask yourself,” Am I doing this for what I will get out of this, or am I doing this for the glory of God?”

When we quit looking at what we we will temporarily gain and learn to focus on the eternal rewards in Heaven above then we will begin to discover our purpose in life through Jesus Christ. All it takes is that first step out of the darkness into the light that you will begin to see like never before. I challenge  you today and every other day to do the work it takes to keep your love alive and do the best you can in everything you do…amen

Spiritual Revelations

Don’t be like Eli in 1st Samuel and miss something that has been given by God. If you recall with Eli he did not listen because the Word of God was rare in those days and he did not recognize what was taking place until he saw the persistence of Samuel…
