How To Avoid Division & Divorce…

February 27, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

It is very easy to speak out against what we see, but in true love that is directed by God we are to stand in faith while sharing the love of Jesus Christ. God shows us what is not right by Him in others to help shape us into who He wants us to be.

As we mature and learn to trust in God it is our duty as a true Christian to stand fast in love with patience for God to correct what needs to be corrected. It is when we take matters into our own hands that we can cause a division in our relationships to the point that they cause anger and even divorce. Rather than focusing on what is negative in the picture we should be looking for the positives to help us learn to overcome the negatives.

Many divisions in the church and in our homes have developed from a lack of understanding the true meaning of a commitment  under God that teaches us to work together through our trials to build something stronger for our children’s future. What are we teaching our children when we don’t work together and when all we do is point out what is wrong in others?

In order for our children to understand a commitment under God we must be an example in our commitments to properly teach them how to work through the hard times to reach the good times. By separating ourselves and blaming one another for our shortcomings it only teaches our children to place blame on someone else rather than taking responsibility for their own actions.

Real change comes when we commit ourselves in prayer for God to bring things together rather than trying to fix it ourselves. So many times we get in the way because we interfere with how God is working to correct what we see. It should be our goal to work on ourselves and allow the light that we carry to help someone else to see the proper way to believe.  Rather than taking matters into your own hands and possibly causing a division or even a divorce learn to trust in God while communicating in the love of Jesus Christ. It doesn’t matter where we go or who we meet there is always something that can be done but it is our place to focus on the positives rather speaking out on the negatives…amen

God Is Worth Our Time…

February 23, 2010 by admin 1 Comment

It is tempting to shape God to our liking and to make His Word convenient to obey or ignore. Many people treat God as a stranger on the street with little time to even acknowledge Him daily, but then they cry out for mercy when trials come their way. Often struggles come our way when we seek a path of our own rather than looking for the direction which God provides.

Without God in our lives daily our walk has little purpose and can become very lonely without His direction. The Lord gives each of us special talents to help one another in many different ways but so often we get stuck in the wilderness because we try to serve ourselves rather than properly serving God. Being a Christian does not mean to only obey God when it is convenient nor does it give us the liberty to ignore God’s instruction. The Lord wants us to live a happy and fulfilled life that will help inspire others to do the same while always seeking His direction that guides the steps that we take.

I challenge you today to seek God for your purpose and begin to look for how He is guiding your life through the love of Jesus Christ. Don’t treat God as that stranger on the street because He could be testing you in the next person you meet…amen

Keeping Our Commitments…

February 22, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

In today’s society it is easy to fall like many and take forgranted the commitments which we make with all the loop holes that have been created for us to take the easy way out. When we make a commitment in life there is no turning back or giving in! For if we make a commitment without accepting the bad with the good then we are only setting ourselves up for failure in the future.

Our commitments are only as good as our word and without God in the center they will eventually be broken. When we make a commitment in life it is imperative to look beyond our immediate desires to insure that we are willing to go the extra mile and do whatever it takes to succeed. By holding ourselves accountable to God in our commitments helps give us the strength and wisdom to fulfill what we have set out to do.

For instance it is easy for me to tell someone that I can’t do this but when I take them out of the picture and look to God for the direction which I need to overcome then I am trusting in Him rather than trusting in my own limited capabilities. I challenge you to not take your commitments lightly and learn to place our Lord and Savior in the center of everything you do for He is the only one that can hold it together and see us through…amen

Feeling Pressured???

February 11, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

Have you ever been caught in the middle of a situation and felt the pressure from both sides? We all seem to get caught in the middle at times in our careers, in our relationships, in our families and even in the church. During these times it is easy to complain and even turn against one another because we don’t know how to handle the pressure. Pressure comes when we don’t trust in God and when we hold back what needs to be said or done. The object in pressure is learning when to act and when not while relying on Jesus to get us through.

It is imperative to recognize that God has a larger purpose in mind beyond what we see in our situations. Rather than acting out in our pressures we need to seek God and ask Him to show us what it is that we may be missing. Anytime we begin to take a negative and try to turn it into a positive we better prepare for the spiritual enemy to do everything he can to hold us back.

Satan attacks us every time we begin to step forward with God in front and it is wise for each of us to understand our opponent in order to achieve our goals. Only with the love of Jesus can we overcome this world and no matter how hard your road may be never allow Satan to rob you of who God has set you out to be. In love we never quit for it is not what we seek for ourselves but what we can pass to others…amen

Think Before You Act…

February 10, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

It is easy in life to become uncertain at times and even question ourselves when the chances for success appear to be slim. Remember that anyone can obey God when the task is easy and when everything is going good but it is when we face difficult times and challenges that reveals who we really are. Only those with persistent faith can obey when the task seems impossible because they learn how to trust in God rather than falling to what they see. Just because our goals may seem out of reach does not mean that God can’t bring them together!

God taught us this human weakness in the book of Exodus with the people of Israel as they wandered in the wilderness and began to complain on their journey. At first they were excited and ready to leave without even thinking about what they might encounter on their trip or much less how long they would have to travel before they reached their destination.

Have you ever made a decision in your emotions looking for an immediate return or not thinking about what you might face once you have stepped forward? It is imperative in life to analyze our decisions before we act to insure that we are serving others rather than serving ourself. Throughout the Holy Bible the Lord teaches us to seek Him before we act and to be prepared in our decisions to never give up no matter how long the road the may be. Our goals should never stop with us! They should be passed from one generation to the next while each generation knows the principles in the foundation from which we stand…amen
