In God’s Timing…

February 1, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

In  the book of Genesis 41 Pharaoh recognized that Joseph was a man that was filled with the spirit of God when he shared the wisdom that God had given him with Pharaoh. Joseph was a man that endured every trial and served God in every situation. He did not  hold grudges nor seek revenge with those who did him wrong. Joseph allowed God to bring things together in the Lord’s timing without trying to step out and take matters into his own hands.

Unlike Joseph we might not get to speak with the king but everyday that we are given those who know us should be able to see God in us through our kind words, our merciful acts, and our wise advice. Whatever our situation, no matter how undesirable it  may be we need to consider it part of our training program to serve God rather than allowing Satan to separate us from what we know in our hearts to be true.

When we begin to look for God in man rather than looking at what we see then the Lord will begin to shape us into who we were set out to be. I challenge you today to  trust in God through every circumstance  and allow your relatives, neighbors, and even co workers to see the spirit of God in you by the way you serve and the way you act…amen

Jesus In The Superbowl Of Life…

January 30, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

Over the last 40 years I have probably watched only a small handful of Superbowl games and I never understood why I could not see the excitement that even disappointed some of the people I was with because I was not in the spirit of the game. But now I see why this took place since my spiritual eyes have been opened. God has now given me this understanding that I never understood before until now in what it was that dampened my spirit of the Superbowl game.

God has been working in my life for a long time and once I truly learned to surrender He set me free to understand what it is that He has been showing me. If you are honest within yourselves and truly listen to this long but short message you will hear something beyond the words which you see and hear the cry of Jesus in whom we believe. Our savior cries in the heart for how He shed His blood for each of us and for how far we have allowed our focus in life to drift from what we know in hearts to be true.

Why is it okay for us to stand and shout at a Superbowl game with cheers of joy when our team is ahead but when we are in church in the presence of God we stay seated with our mouths barely speaking a word or saying an amen? Why is it okay to stand up and encourage our team in the Superbowl game when they are behind with power in our voice to reach the fields but when someone in our church or community may be falling behind we barely even give them some of our time?

Tell me, do you think our pastors are the only ones on the team? We are all on the team as a Christian and it is our duty to Stand Up, Encourage, and Cheer in God’s mercy for our children to see the love of Jesus in how He has set us free. There is nothing wrong with a game as long as we understand the principles behind self discipline and order to keep our perspective and based on what so many show it is easy  to see how many are holding back whom they know. Can you only imagine what church would be like if we were all as excited about the service as we get when we meet for that special event?

I say all of this to you recognize the spirit of God and don’t just sit still with it when you feel it in your bones making you quiver. Because we never know when that day may come that we will be delivered. Enjoy the Superbowl with your friends and family but when you begin to feel that spirit making you cheer always keep God first because He is near.

I challenge you as a true Christian to quit holding back the spirit of God and thinking you can’t stand up to cheer because of being too worried about what others may think in giving you fears. Life in the spirit of God is a gift that we all have been given when we learn to listen and turn ourselves over to Him to use us as the vessel that we were set out to be. Always remember there are only two teams being good and evil to insure the team that we are are on because we never know when our time could run out!!!…amen

The Eyes & Ears Of A Child…

January 28, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

It is very easy in life to get so caught up in our own world that we can’t hear or even see what is before us. Satan wants to cloud our vision and to restrict our hearing to the point that we become stuck in the fog rather than learning to trust in God to guide us through. Jesus tells us in Mark 10:15, “Assuredly, I say to you , whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”

The Lord teaches us throughout the Holy Bible to stay humble as a child and to be wise in our steps as we mature. There is a big difference between a child and an adult. For a young child is alert to their surroundings and listens to everything around them while the adults often become restricted in life because they fail to think that they already know it all or they just don’t have the time to listen.

The Lord teaches us to test all things as we mature in the Word of God and to always be alert. For we never know the day nor the hour of Christ return and wouldn’t it be sad to miss something that God has placed right before us to help us along the Way? I challenge you today to begin to listen as that child of God and be wise in your steps to not fall to deception. It is in our nature to follow what we see but if we don’t know how to truly listen then how do we truly show that we believe?

Clear Your Mind To Listen…

January 27, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

In order to truly hear what needs to be heard it is imperative that we learn how to clear our minds and allow our hearts to absorb God’s direction. The Lord guides us through the Holy Spirit with confirmations that are placed on our heart but so many times we fall to what we think because of what we see. Satan is very clever and he deceives us on the outside because we often fail to listen and follow what we know on the inside.

Have you ever made a decision that came back to bite you because you did not follow what God had placed on your heart? Have you ever made a decision because you allowed Satan to build something in your mind that was later revealed to be (not) true? How do you think the people felt after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ? We all have made wrong decisions in life when we leaned on our own understanding and allowed our emotions to guide our actions. Learning to walk in this life requires each of us to stand on our own and learning  how to follow God rather than man. This is why it is so important to know the Word of God and to learn how to listen…amen

Don’t Lose Touch In Life…

January 25, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

When is the last time that you honestly stopped to listen without any type of distractions? Did you know that it takes time to unwind when we have been wound up so tight that we can’t hardly listen? It is very easy to become deaf and even blind in todays society due to the way our world is pushing us to keep up. But if we don’t take the time to stop and truly listen then if we are not careful something could be missed.

Keeping our lives in Balance is vital in order to maintain what God has given. Satan tries to wind us up to the point that we don’t listen because he knows that if we don’t stop to pay attention then it is only a matter of time before we will lose sight of the path that we are on. Have you ever noticed how everything in God’s creation has a steady pattern that is constantly working together and moving forward? It is very easy to lose sight when we focus on what we see and don’t take the time to listen to what needs to be heard. I challenge you today to stop and truly listen to what God has placed on your heart and learn to stay in touch in everything you do to allow the love of Jesus to shine through…amen

Spiritual Revelations

Don’t be like Eli in 1st Samuel and miss something that has been given by God. If you recall with Eli he did not listen because the Word of God was rare in those days and he did not recognize what was taking place until he saw the persistence of Samuel…
