Life Is A Journey…

January 14, 2010 by admin 2 Comments

Life is a journey that we all travel and there are many different roads that we take. Some of us get lost and some of us never lose the Way but all that really matters is that we strive to reach that eternal day.  It is very easy to get caught up in what we see rather than hearing what needs to heard and when we try to hold on to what we see then are we properly teaching others how to believe?

We can only hold on to things for so long and we often get stuck in life because we don’t know how to let it go. The lord taught us this in Genesis 19 with Lot’s wife when it was time to move on but she she couldn’t help for looking back and this robbed her of the life that she could have had. How can we ever move forward when we are steadily looking back?

It is easy to become stuck in this life when we can’t see how God is directing our steps to serve His purpose and not our own. Many of us have experienced hurt in our lives and even allowed Satan hold us back when we should be moving forward. I challenge you today and every other day to shake off what is holding you back and allow God to direct your steps going forward…amen

Never Doubt God’s Promise…

January 13, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

In our spiritual maturity it is imperative to recognize how God supplies us with our needs here on this earth to accomplish what He wants in our lives to serve His purpose and not our own. But so many times we lose sight of this and fall to what we see while chasing everything of this world instead of thinking about what God wants in our lives verses what we want for ourselves.

Our lives are to be an example to others and He will bless us for our obedience whether in this life or in the next. God’s promise still stands just as strong today as it did with Abraham many years ago. It is not for us to get caught up in what we don’t have but learn to appreciate what we do have. When God told Abraham that he was going to have a son and Sara laughed neither of them should have ever doubted God’s Word but accepted it in faith rather than taking matters into their own hands.

I challenge you today and every other day to not get caught up in what you don’t have but learn to content in what you do have. Then if it is in the Lord’s will that He blesses you in this life then just consider it a blessing from God for what He has given…amen

Deception Of The Devil…

January 12, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

So many times in life we make wrong decisions based on our emotions without properly thinking them through. Then we often allow Satan to cause us to be bitter, depressed, angry, unforgiving or just simply rude.

Throughout the Holy Bible the Lord tries to teach us to trust in Him but far too often when we fall to our flesh we make bad decisions that can not only bring pains for ourselves but they can also affect others. A good example of this is when God promised Abraham and Sara that they would have a son but they took matters into their own hands instead trusting in God to bring it all together. This bad decision brought strife into the family and gave undeserved hurt to a child that did not ask for what he received.

When we ask God for something it is imperative to recognize that Satan can hear it too. This is where we must learn to be wise and trust in God because if we are not careful what we see on the outside may not be what want on the inside. Satan is very clever and he wants us to lose our focus in life and this is where I challenge you look beyond what you see towards Jesus Christ in whom we believe…

Serve Others First…

January 11, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

In the book of Genesis 13 Abraham taught us a true lesson in life that parallels the life of Jesus Christ. He and his nephew Lot were in a situation where the land could not support both of their families and their herds. Instead of allowing conflict to build between the families Abraham went to Lot and asked (him) to choose the land that he desired. Lot chose the one that appeared to be the better of the two and then moved on with no conflict within the family. But as time went on Lot soon realized that the land that appeared to be so rich was seriously infected.

Throughout the Word of God we are taught to place our desires behind others and when we don’t follow His Word then our life is nothing but a worthless fight. It is easy to see in our society today how many families are destroyed because they chase what appears to be better for themselves rather than sitting back as Abraham and trusting in God to work it all out. Lot faced a test in his decision to see how he would serve and like ourselves today we face the same test to see how we will follow.

Life is a test to see how we will obey and the next time you face a choice I challenge you to put yourself last instead of first. Because the Lord tells us in Luke 13,” Those that are last will be first, and those that are first will be last.” Once you begin this process in properly serving others you will find that God will bless your life through the love of Jesus Christ…amen

Stay Encouraged & Uplift Others…

January 8, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

So many times in life we become drained of our drive or become depressed because we rely on own strengths instead of learning to rely on the spiritual strength that God can give us when we trust in Him. In Nehemiah 8 the Lord says, ” Be not grieved or depressed, for the joy of the Lord is our strength and stronghold.”

It is important to recognize how Satan wants to steal our joy because he knows that we gain strength when we have joy in our hearts. He wants us to be weak so that we will become vulnerable to the point that we will grab hold of whatever he puts before us. This is why it is vital to stay close in the Word of God and learn to trust in Him along the Way.

Some days God will send us messengers to build us up in faith and to lift our spirits when we are feeling weak. And there are other days that He may send someone else in our path for us to encourage them when they are in need. I challenge you today and every other day to be strong in the Lord and to share the joy that God gives with others in your your path. It is our duty as a Christian to be an example in everything we do and allow the Lord’s light to shine through…amen

Spiritual Revelations

Don’t be like Eli in 1st Samuel and miss something that has been given by God. If you recall with Eli he did not listen because the Word of God was rare in those days and he did not recognize what was taking place until he saw the persistence of Samuel…
