Our vision is limited and sometimes even lost when we focus on ourselves instead of looking to God for our direction and placing other people in front of our own desires. It is very easy to become trapped in our circumstances when we allow Satan to spiritually restrict our vision by placing our eyes upon the things of this world instead of what God has in store for us in the next life to come. Spiritually Satan wants us to waller in our hurts and pains instead of learning to grow stronger and allowing the Holy Spirit to show us the direction that we are to follow.
Sometimes we need true friends just to give us a good kick in the rear when we are allowing Satan to spiritually hold us down. This example was taught to us with King David in 2 Samuel after he had fallen to sin and after he had lost his son. He was hurt and falling into depression because he simply allowed Satan to spiritually hold him down. Sometimes we all have to receive that loving kick in the rear from our true friends to help us when all we can do is complain or frown.
When we take our eyes off of our self and begin to look upon the needs of others then God will open our eyes to see something that we have not seen before. So many times we slip in this area because we feel that we don’t have the time to encourage one another or we become too concerned of how someone is going to react to the truth that can set them free. While then there are those like Job’s friends who just want to sit around and tell us what we might have done wrong instead of just helping us through.
As a true Christian it is our place be there for one another and simply speak the truth in love that someone might pick themselves up after a fall. The outcome of the truth once spoken is between God and that individual. It is our place to to surround them with love and always be there for when they may return. I challenge you today to not allow Satan to spiritually hold you down and allow the love of Jesus to get you through. For there is nothing too hard for the Lord and all we have to do is put our trust in Him instead of putting our confidence in man…amen
