Paul teaches us to fan the flames in the spirit of God and to always encourage one another no matter where we are in life. One thing to keep in mind when someone is on fire for the Lord or excelling in their God given talent is how to fan the flame instead of trying to quench the spirit. Have you ever been excited about something and someone just let the air out of your balloon? Have you ever worked hard for something to make a difference and no one acknowledged the work that was done? Always recall that it is not what we do for ourselves but what we do for others that shows whom we follow.
We all are human and need a word of encouragement from time to time. But more importantly we need to recognize in our spiritual maturity how to fan the flame instead of trying to dampen the fire. It is not our place to let the air out of someones balloon for God decides how high it will fly and when it is time to come back down.
I challenge you today and every other day be encouraging in your words and actions with others. And learn to fan the flame in the spirit of God while always keeping Jesus in front to insure a safe landing…amen
