A Flight Of Faith

November 19, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

Throughout the Word of God the Lord instructs us to trust Him and to have faith in the results that are sure to come. Where many of us get lost is because we look for that step of faith with success the first time we try to fly. Then when we get our wings clipped we often become bitter and unfortunately some even give up. Since when are we to give up as a child of God when we know that our wings will grow back? How many of us have ever jumped too soon and struggled in flight?

A step in faith does not always mean that things are going to turn out the way we want them but what we must recall is that there are lessons to be learned in order to prepare our wings for the future flight. Here is an important part to recognize, “What good is it to build something if we can’t share it with others and teach them how to fly on their own.”

What good is is our life if we are not teaching our children the principles of flight and the importance of knowing how to land for someone else to take off once again? Always remember to have faith in your flight because as long as we have life through Jesus Christ then there is still hope to fly again…Amen

It is when we learn to step out that God will step in….

Don’t Die In Your Cocoon!!!

November 15, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

Our life can be compared to a caterpillar in a cocoon. Until we learn how to embed ourselves in the Word of God in seeking the Truth which teaches us how to fly, our lives are often dark and empty on the inside. Do you feel trapped? Does your life seem dark and dreary? Do you look forward to everyday that you are given? Are you excited when you open up the Word of God or when you hear someone speaking of the Lord? Does the cocoon you live in feel like it is collapsing due to the pressure that is all around? Or, is there peace in your spirit and in your home?

It is in our human nature to build our own comfort zones and forget how to fly in this dark world. This can happen easily when we become so wrapped up in our own shell that we forget how to look within ourselves for God to develop the wings that He wants us to grow. If you are feeling uncomfortable in your life or around someone that may be on your last nerve praise God rather than getting stuck in what you think that you see. Who has ever experienced some personal growth without some birth pains?

If you are feeling trapped, pressured or simply uncomfortable seek God for what it is that He is wanting you to find within yourself rather than worrying about it with others. For there is a great peace in our home when we learn how to live in the Lord rather in this dark lonely world…

The Creator or The Shade Tree Mechanic

November 10, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

Have you ever studied the mechanics of a car and the principles that are required to keep them in tune? In every car that we purchase if we open the glove box there is an owners manual that simply outlines everything that we need to know in case something goes wrong with the car. This manual teaches us how to read the warning signs that pop up on the instrument panel to insure the longevity of the car.

It was not many years ago that we did not have all these warning lights that popped up and we had to learn how to listen to the motor to insure that everything was in order. Have you ever noticed someone that kept driving their car without taking the time to address what needed to be fixed? Have you ever experienced neglecting a specific area of your car and then before you knew you were sitting on the side of the road?

When we compare ourselves to a car it is wise to be in tune with the motor. Just as manufactures are doing today God made us so that we have to go back to the Creator if we really want to solve the issues that we have at hand. There are many shade tree mechanics that try to show us a quicker route but when we learn to stop and listen God will show us the Way.

Have you opened the owners manual to life in the Word of God to know the warning signs and to insure that your car can go the extra mile? Or is your car falling apart because you are not taking the time to really address what needs to be done. It is very easy to run ourselves ragged and chase everything in the world but there comes a point time that we should stop and listen to what God is placing in our heart to make sure that our car will always be ready to start.

Recognize Satan’s Temptations (w/ Chevy & Christy)

November 9, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

There is alot of wisdom when you compare yourself to a car. Yesterday we discussed the importance of knowing the type of fuel that is carrying us forward. For instance, have you really thought about what fuels your car? Is it the love that you carry in your heart in serving others or is it with no consideration of the people on the road due to your own selfish gain? Do you travel the road as if you own it or are you considerate of others that may be in your way? Did you ever think that God allowed that person to pull out in front of you to possibly teach you a lesson in the fruit of the spirit?

Think about it…Which do you enjoy more,  the time in the car with the family as Clark Griswald did in National Lampoon’s Vacation or the time in the two seated car with Christy Brinkley? Do you recall how Chevy Chase tried to keep up with that little red sports car and how she caused him to have a disturbance in his family?

In this movie series with Chevy Chase we can learn a biblical message of how spiritually Satan will use others as he did with Christy Brinkley to divide our families and cause us to try to keep up with what the world has to offer. We are all tested spiritually daily by Satan to see if he can throw us off course. These trials are there to help build our faith.

Are you unhappy with your car because it is not flashy enough or because it doesn’t have that power under the hood? Maybe we need to examine the fuel to insure what is driving us forward.

Watch this brief Youtube clip on temptation to recall the movie.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQc8vRfld8Q&feature=related

Are You Making Emotional Decisions?

November 4, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

Have you ever been at such a point in your emotions that you felt that you could no longer control yourself? Have you ever lost control and then later regretted your actions? Our emotions can be extremely dangerous when we do not have the discernment to recognize good and evil in the self discipline of God. The next time you find yourself being consumed by a particular emotion take a step back to insure the proper impact on the future.

Don’t be blind sided spiritually by Satan in your emotions and allow him to set you back instead of trusting in God to carry you forward. This lesson is taught to us in Genesis 4 with Cain and Abel and throughout the Holy Bible. Another great lesson of this is with King Herod and the beheading of John the Baptist. King Herod allowed his sexual desires to blind him into something that he later regretted. Do you think that President Clinton and John Edwards might could relate with King Herod?

Unfortunately, we all can relate at times to allowing our emotional decisions to guide our actions and this is why it is imperative that we teach our children the Word of God to maintain our future. If there is something in you that is consuming you and robbing you of your joy turn to God in the love of Christ before you act to insure that everything stays intact…Amen

Spiritual Revelations

Don’t be like Eli in 1st Samuel and miss something that has been given by God. If you recall with Eli he did not listen because the Word of God was rare in those days and he did not recognize what was taking place until he saw the persistence of Samuel…
