In the book of 2 Samuel 16 & 19 of the Holy Bible we learn a valuable lesson in life on trusting God instead of taking matters into our own hands. As King David was leaving Jerusalem a man by the name of Shimei cursed him and threw stones at David and his officers as they traveled by. The officers wanted to lash back but King David followed the wisdom of God and told his officers to leave it in the Lord’s hands.
So many times in life when we face confrontation we tend to engage rather than recognizing the test that is put before us. All Satan wants is for us to engage in our emotions because he knows how easily we can get thrown off coarse. All it takes is one wrong action to destroy something that God has given and if we are not careful to recognize how the spirit of Satan can misguide our lives then we are only setting ourselves up for a fall.
Have you ever engaged in confrontation and later regretted that you even got involved? Have you ever acted in your emotions without trusting God for the outcome? It is very easy in life to try and fix things that are not in our control and this is where we need to learn to trust God as we just continue on with the direction that the Lord has given. I challenge you today that if you are struggling with something in your life to turn it over to the Lord and allow Him to bring things together as you continue in your walk with the love of Jesus in your heart and soul…amen
“For what Jesus brings together no one can take apart and how long do you honestly expect something to last if it was not put together by God?”
