Have You Lost Your Balance?

January 17, 2011 by admin Leave a Comment

If you were to think of the word Balance and compare its definition to your life what would you see in your reflection? Would you see your life out of order, your work in chaos, a lukewarm marriage, your children out of control, or just no time for yourself in allowing God to keep you in tune?

In order to keep our lives in check we must recognize the purpose of self discipline and the purpose of order in all directions to maintain our balance in life. Maintaining our balance is not something that comes easy and we must accept the fact that it requires work to keep our lives in tune. It is very easy in today’s society to feel like we do not have time when we really do and this is exactly what Satan wants because then he knows how easily we can be distracted in life.

For life is not about how fast we can run or how fast we may achieve a goal. It is about learning to maintain what we have been given and teaching our children how to reach further in life through the love of Jesus Christ!!!

With this being said I leave you this morning with this question placed upon your heart,”What can you do today that will improve something for someone else tomorrow?”

Driven Passions Of God In Man

January 15, 2011 by admin 1 Comment

Throughout history we can recognize the drive of God in the persistence of men and women who set out to make a positive difference for the good of the people even when they faced all odds. It did not matter what they faced or whether they stood all alone because they knew the drive and direction that was given by God that strengthened their faith to make something better for the people.

Noah did not quit his task when the people mocked him for building a boat when they had never experienced rain. Abraham did not disobey God when the Lord gave him instructions nor did he give up on pleading with God to spare the righteous in the land of Sodom and Gomorrah before it was destroyed. Joseph did not give up just because others gave up on him or because of his circumstances in life. Moses never asked for his job nor did he even think that he was qualified. Ruth remained strong in character and true to God even when the society around her was collapsing. Samuel did not go back to sleep when Eli told him to just lay back down! David was the least of all his brothers but had the heart of a lion when someone spoke against our living God. Esther risked her life for the life of others when she went against the traditions that were followed by the people. Job did not give in to Satan when he suffered so greatly even when those around him made false accusations. Daniel never gave in to man for what he knew was right in his heart by God! Nehemiah did not give in just because the task was so large and the people that he had to face!

John The Baptist did not detour from God’s calling because the way people looked at him for how he appeared on the outside because he knew who was directing him on the inside! Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior did not detour from God’s message when He taught us how to love and forgive those which do not understand God’s eternal plan in this fallen land. Nor did Paul allow his previous life to detour him from the message that he was to deliver when he saw the light in Jesus Christ!

Martin Luther did not give in to the Pope nor to the Roman Catholics when he took a stand in 1517 strongly disputing the church and following God. Our American ancestors did not allow Britain to rob them of their freedom in religion nor did they allow their fears to stop them from moving across the seas in the 1700′s. Benjamin Franklin did not allow his age to stop him at 70 years old when he wanted to help his country win the American Revolution. James Armistead, a brave African American, did not subdue because of his color! Thomas Jefferson did not stand for someone to think that they were above another when he helped write the Declaration of Independence!  Benjamin Banneker, an African American, did not allow his fears to stop him from writing our leaders about ending slavery here in America. Martin Luther King, Jr. did not give in when he saw something that was not right! Nor did Billy Graham waver from his commitment in serving God and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Throughout history many men and women have persevered and overcome tough situations because they put their trust in God rather than allowing the world to hold them back. No matter who we are or where we have been it is vital to recognize how God is the one who picks us up and lays us down to serve His purpose and not our own! The Lord gives us our inner confidence and drive that will not sway in this world until our job is done and it is our place to do the best we can in everyday that we have been given. By living our lives as an example under Christ it teaches our children to never lose hope no matter what they have to face. Because with God “All Things Are Possible” even when the world seems to be falling apart!

It is in the persistence of men and women that never give up, when we can see God at work in making a positive difference for our children’s future! I challenge you today and every other day to strengthen yourself in the Lord and allow the love of Jesus to shine in your life like never before! It is when we know that Greater Is He that Is In Us Than He That Is In This World that we will find strength to overcome  our obstacles in life! Never lose Hope no matter what you face or for what you have been through because it is when we let go of ourselves that God will take over and carry us forward…Amen

Can You Hear The Music Of God?

January 14, 2011 by admin Leave a Comment

How many times do we read something without taking the time to really hear what is being said because we are too stuck in the physical and miss the message in the spiritual. God wants us to stop and listen to our hearts without allowing the world to distort the message. The Lord speaks in many different ways yet man does not perceive it simply because they have never learned how to stop and recognize the spiritual messages before them. Here is a message the Lord placed in my spirit and I pray that you will take your eyes off of the deliver to receive something from the Giver…

Our character traits are like keys on a piano when you really think about it!  If we only learn one way then how can we expect to learn the art of living? There is a balance to stay in tune along with certain lines to not cross.  But the important factor to remember is if we miss a certain note or child, then that trait may struggle or possibly never be developed.  No one can play the perfect tune due to each individual has a difference. But what matters is the common ground in which we all stand and learn to love what God has given each of us in this land.

Learn the character traits to promote growth and watch the music of your child come to life.  Because there is nothing more gratifying than the love of a child looking up to it’s parents.  This is what the Lord enjoys when we focus on Him and learn how to live each and every day.  The Lord rejoices when He hears and sees the music of true love on our hearts.  So as you develop your character, don’t overlook certain keys because you never know when we could get knocked to our knees. It is crucial to know our children and realize that our lives guide their future.

There is only one Perfect Father and one Perfect Son who taught us the meaning of two being one.  Life does not stop with us and we have already been given everything we need so search the Word of God and learn to follow Jesus’ lead.  (To God All Glory, Amen)

Can You Hear The Gentle Whisper?

January 13, 2011 by admin 7 Comments

The object in life is to learn how to walk with God through the love of Jesus Christ to serve His purpose and not our own. For there is a time to walk, a time to jog, a time to skip, a time to run and a time rest as we learn to give our best. As a youth we like to run, but as we mature we should be learning the wisdom in knowing when to move with God and when not to simply stay in tune. For if all we do is run without learning to stop with God then how can we honestly expect to truly listen?

Here is a message that God whispered in my ear after prayer one morning in a chapel as I looked over to the piano that I so love to hear. No one was in the room but the spirit of God and myself as I walked over to the instrument to play a tune. In my walk I said,” Okay Lord, you say we can do anything if we have faith even move mountains if we believe. Not knowing the first thing about playing the piano I closed my eyes and touched one key to then hear these words upon my heart.

“The note of a piano string, how far do you hear it fading away? Do you interupt its sound before it is complete? Or, do you start another key so the notes may meet. Each note has a specific tone to its faded end and it is in this appreciation we learn to love each note to the very end. If you choose to meet one key to another let them blend in harmony together so their music will last forever. It is in this process of unity between the keys that we can hear the music of God in the air that is being played every where.”

I must admit that I can not play the piano like a gifted musician but in those few keys that were softly touched I heard those words spoken in the notes that were played. Can you hear the music that is all around and hear God’s whispers that speak to us in His beautiful sounds? Until we learn how to stop we will never learn how to listen…Amen

Can You Hear God Speaking?

January 12, 2011 by admin Leave a Comment

Can you hear the music that is being played in the spirit of God? Did you know that there is song being played in God’s love for His children from the leaves that blow in the wind and the stars in sky that light up the night? When is the last time that you ever tried to tune in with spirit of God without being consumed by the world? Do you take time daily with God and meditate on His Word? It is truly amazing at what we can hear in the spirit of God that can reassure us in our fears and let us know that He is near.

 Here is what I heard one day as I was writing a letter to my daughter;

 Dear Karlee,

You know I was thinking I need to teach you how to dance. One day when you are much older you will have someone to dance with and you need to understand the purpose of the dance and how to hear the music of God.

There is something very special when you are in the arms of someone who loves you and especially when you learn to work together in the spirit of God. The Lord teaches us how to dance in the Holy Bible when we open our eyes and ears to hear Him draw near. Think about it, the Lord teaches us how two can become one and how to move together in this physical dance of life.

Dancing in love is something very special and to never take forgranted! It is not in how fast we move but it is in how slow we dance that teaches us the true art of God’s romance. First we have to learn how to surrender and then when we learn how to commit is when God will teach us how to move like we have never moved before. It will feel as if our feet are being lifted from the floor because we will feel the spirit of God in knowing Jesus who is the One that is standing at the door.

You don’t speak in the dance. For you learn to listen for that gentle whisper upon your heart and this is when you will recognize God’s love from the very start. Don’t be shy and think you can’t dance because God will teach you the art of romance in this dance of life that has been given through our Father’s only Son Jesus Christ. So close your eyes and imagine being in the arms of our Father Heaven and hearing these words every time you put your feet to the floor in Him saying,” Good morning my child please open your ears to know that I am near and learn to dance without any types of doubt or fears. For I love you and I will never forsake you because my love for you is sufficient to always get you through.”

In this letter to my daughter if you truly have the ears to hear you will recognize the music that is played when we simply learn to stop and listen. For this message was not only intended for me to hear it is for you to know that God is near…Amen
