How Good Is Your Word?

February 22, 2011 by admin Leave a Comment

Here is something that many people fail to comprehend due to their lack of understanding in the Word of God. The Lord plainly test us everyday through people and events that take place but we fail to see this due to looking at man instead keeping our eyes upon the Lord. Our word as a Christian is to be our bond, for the Lord tells us not to make an oath nor promise because our answers should be as simple as a Yes or No.

Due to the lack of understanding between men and women and getting away from the Word of God many have forgotten our responsibility in giving our word and once we do, it is our place to follow through. The object is to insure that our commitments are of the Lord and not a commitment that is of the flesh. When we give our word it should be a bond under God and it is our place to trust the Lord for the outcome without trying to control something ourselves. The problem that we have reached today is that we have no value on our word due to forgetting the line that we are to follow. We often fail in thinking that someone is not a person of their word because something did not happen in our time line verses understanding the time line of the Lord.

So, the next time you make a decision or decide to make commitment under God consider where you place your trust to insure that your word won’t be broken. There is no going back once we start to move forward! For every decision that God begins He is the One who decides the outcome. For it is better to place our trust in God than to place our confidence in man…Psalm 118:8

Follow God & Don’t Be Misled!!!

February 21, 2011 by admin Leave a Comment

Have you considered the influence that the world can have on your life when you do not know the Word of God? Without the Word of God in our lives we are  void and shapeless in searching for something that we will never find until we discover the Lord. The world is very deceiving and without the discernment of having the Word of God planted on our hearts then we are vulnerable to the spiritual misguidance of Satan.

Society may pressure  us to conform to its way of life and thought but yielding to that pressure will (1) create confusion as to which side we should be on and (2) eliminate our effectiveness in serving God. Follow God by obeying His Word and don’t let the culture around you mold your thoughts and actions. For the world says one thing but God says another and the question is who do you prfer to follow?

Is Someone’s Blood On Your Hands?

February 18, 2011 by admin Leave a Comment

Have you ever really considered who sets you free and how this is done? Many people would say that Jesus is who set’s us spiritually free and this is correct. But if you were to ask many Christians what it is about Jesus that breaks the spiritual chains that hold us down a large majority would not know this answer. It is the Holy Spirit that draws us to Jesus in seeking the truth and when we discover Jesus we connect in the spirit in the Lord. For Jesus said in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

The interesting part about this lesson of truth is that when we truly come to Jesus that He will give us a hunger for the truth that is fed in the spirit as we commit ourselves in the Word of God.  Jesus was the spirit of truth that came to life through the virgin birth of Mary and where so many converts backslide is by not committing themselves in the Word of God to deepen their relationship with the Lord and allowing the Holy Spirit to transform their life further into the truth.

Another reason that many converts backslide is because of our own lack of teaching and accepting the responsibility of discipleship with the individual that God has put in our path. How bad would it be to lead someone to Christ but then find out their blood was on our hands because we failed to follow through in helping them to walk on their own with the Lord?

Don’t Miss God’s Promise…

February 17, 2011 by admin Leave a Comment

Don’t allow Satan to spiritually deceive you into thinking that you are following Jesus when you could be being deceived by Satan. In Matthew 7:23 Jesus said,”And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” There is a very fine line to follow in our obedience to God through the love of Jesus Christ and where so many have become lost is in not knowing the Word of God and falling into the deception of Satan.

How sad will it be on the day that we are called home and for someone to hear these words spoken by Jesus in Matthew 7:23? See, Jesus is teaching the same lesson that was taught to the Israelites that were following God to the Promise Land but they failed to enter due to their disobedience to God. Some failed to enter due to worshipping their gold, some failed to enter due to grumbling and complaining, some failed to enter because they challenged God’s anointed, some failed to enter due to their lack of focus, and some failed to enter simply due to their lack of belief.

I don’t know about you but when that day comes that I meet my Maker the last thing that I want to hear is to depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Have you considered who you work for? In Colossians 3:23 we are told to do everything unto the Lord whole heartedly and don’t you think that if we are working for the Lord that we should be obedient to His Word?

This message is to uplift the believer and to Wake Up those that have possibly fallen asleep. Don’t get slack in your life for we never know the day that our time could be called. Are you ready? Are you caring something that it is not of the Lord that maybe could cause you to miss the eternal Promise of God? Don’t get stuck in this life and lose sight of the next…Amen

Are You Real or Fake?

February 15, 2011 by admin Leave a Comment

It is easy to act in obedience to God when we are around other believers but the real question is,”Who are we?” when no one is around. Have you ever considered the way you act or speak in front of some people and then the way you actin front of others? Are you consistent in your walk or would others find a hypocrite in your actions?

With the Lord in the center of our lives we can find a balance in our attitudes and actions due to being anchored with Jesus at the cross. When you meet individuals that are not anchored you will find that they either have to put up a front or they simply just reveal who robs them of their joy by the way they act and react.

God wants our obedience to His Word and with our obedience there should be a consistent pattern in our lives that carries us forward. If you find yourself saying something to one individual that you would not want repeated to someone else or acting one way in front of the world but another way in front of other Christians then we need to ask ourselves this question, “Are we real or are we being fake?”

Spiritual Revelations

Don’t be like Eli in 1st Samuel and miss something that has been given by God. If you recall with Eli he did not listen because the Word of God was rare in those days and he did not recognize what was taking place until he saw the persistence of Samuel…
