God’s Word Teaches Discipline & Self Control

December 10, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

If you saw a child abandoned on a frozen pond and being held captive in fear how far would you be willing to go to help rescue that child from their captivity? Would you step out in faith if you saw a bully out on the ice pushing that weak child out further from safety and causing them to cry out to God from their heart to help set them free? How would you react if you saw someone misleading another child out on the frozen pond without teaching them how to walk on their own? Would you be willing to risk your own life for the sake of another? Or, would you be willing to call out to those that were not teaching the children how to stop and listen before something cracked and someone possibly fell through?

Learning to walk with God requires each one of us to take that step of faith while trusting in God to carry us forward. It is vital that we continue to study the Word of God to develop our own senses as we are taught in Hebrews 5:14,”But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, [even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

See recognizing the spiritual enemy or lets say the evil one is crucial in maturing with Christ and learning how to be in this world but not of this world. The object is for us to recognize the spiritual cracks of the enemy that take place when the Truth is applied to avoid the spiritual struggle between good and evil. For when we learn to hear the cracks of Satan then it is our place to wait on God’s direction before we go any further.

Learning how to react under the pressure of Satan is crucial in our walk as a Christian. We all get wound up from time to time when we allow something to build without communicating in love and knowing how to simply trust in God. If we are not careful Satan can deceive us when we do not know how to properly disperse our weight out on the frozen pond and this is why it is vital that we learn to develop that one on one relationship with the Lord for us to make it to the other side…Amen

How Deep Is Your Love?

December 8, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

Have you ever stepped on a frozen body of water and played on it as a child? Do you recall the sounds of the ice cracking as you applied more weight to the ice? Depending on the depth of the ice the sounds of the ice cracking can vary due to the amount of pressure that is applied. The object is when you are stepping on the ice to recognize the depth of the frozen water to insure just how far you can go. Because the further we travel on the ice in this world it can get thinner unless it is solid to the core.

This same principle is taught in the Word of God to help us fill our hearts with God’s love and to help us develop a solid foundation. For when we allow the love of Jesus to fill our hearts and soul, His love then spreads from the inside and should be reflecting on the outside. For instance the way we react shows the depth of our love and the trust that we place in the Lord. This is why some people crack when they hear the Truth and snap back out of spite instead of out of love and understanding.

So the next time you face something that is uncomfortable in your spirit learn when to apply pressure and when not to insure that you don’t fall into something that could take you under. This battle is not of flesh and blood it is between the spirits that guide us in our words and actions. Dealing with this world is like walking on ice and it is our place to teach in love with humility and strength in God’s Word…Amen

Real Love Or Superficial

December 7, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

If you were to look within the way you express your love how deep would your love go? The Word of God instructs us to clothe ourselves in love and it will bond us together in harmony with Christ giving us peace in our hearts. Think about the word clothe in this cold world that it is. Have you ever felt the difference in a fresh towel right of the dryer as you stepped out of the shower? Could you feel the warmth to your bones?

The real love of God does not only warm us on the outside but it penetrates to the inside. As a true Christian our love should be felt by others and reflected in our words and actions with respect for the other individual. If someone says that they have love but show no respect in return then their love is either very shallow or sadly superficial.

Jesus taught us how to love and Gods Word instructs us to love thy neighbor as thyself. So with this said, I challenge you to think about the way that you express your love with others to insure that your words and actions can be felt from the warmth of God in your heart. We all tend to get in a rush in this busy world but it is wise to maintain your balance in the love of Jesus to insure that you don’t miss the step…Amen

Are You Ready For The Storm Ahead?

December 4, 2010 by admin 1 Comment

The time is right before us that the spiritual bondage of Satan is going to be shaken! There is a movement coming that is going to roll like thunder, twist like tornadoes and blow like the wind due to the movement of God. During this time of God’s movement there will be a large resistance from the darkness of the world but Jesus says,” Have faith as a mustard seed in trusting God and the waves will not overtake your ship.”

Everyday we encounter barometric changes within our spiritual being that can affect our state of mind unless we are anchored to the cross of Jesus Christ. Without knowing how to trust God when changes come our way we often allow Satan to spiritually enter our minds because we simply don’t understand what is taking place. This often causes us to feel as if we are losing control due to looking for answers in the physical instead of recognizing what is taking place in the spiritual. At this stage of change and lack of understanding it can be a good thing because then we are learning how to deepen our faith in simply trusting God by letting go of whatever is holding us back to be shaped in the hands of our Creator.

Why is it that we have fear when storms or change are in the horizon? Is it because we are not prepared or is it simply because we are not anchored in Christ? To be anchored we must embed ourselves in the Word of God for our roots to be entrenched in the depths of our foundation and locked to the Rock of Jesus Christ. As changes occur in the atmosphere they also occur in our spirits between one another until we learn how to love each other for who God has set us out to be.

Storms can occur in our spirits when we allow something to brew over time due to our lack of communication in love or when we allow another spirit of darkness to fight with the light of Jesus Christ. Often spiritual storms can be avoided if we would just learn to be humble and receptive to hear God’s Word. The longer we contain the spirit within us without learning how to let it flow in the love of God this causes the pressure to build until the point of release. The object is learning how to release in the love of God without allowing the pressure of our emotions to misguide our actions as Moses did when he struck the rock.

As one cloud unites with another cloud without knowing how to release the rain a storm can build to a point that can be as destructive as a hurricane. This same principle takes place in our spirits when we unite with others due to the momentum that is gained when the spirits join together as clouds just before a rain. When united in Christ we stand in love but if we allow our emotions and fears to mislead our actions then we get tossed around in the winds of the world. Can you see the relation to the tears that we hold back from our internal pains or from the tears that come when the Truth is being held back in the Word of God?  Or, can you see the Power in the spirit of God that is gained when we learn how to unite in the love of God with respect for each part of the body in obedience to God’s Word?

There is unity, harmony, strength and security in the spirit of God when we learn to join together in the unconditional love of our Father in Heaven. For as long as we allow our spirits to question everything that is taking place without trusting the Lord daily for our direction then the atmosphere in which we live in will feel pressured and uncertain. Holding back the spirit within us can be dangerous until we learn how to let it go and turn it over to our Father in Heaven above. Not only is it dangerous when we hold back our trust in God but it also restricts us from moving forward to where the Lord wants to take us in the inner peace of His Kingdom.

The Word of God tells us not to suppress the spirit of the Lord and for us to develop our senses through the Word of God. It is important to recognize the differences between the love of God that falls like a gentle mist and the storms that build due to our lack of understanding how to release in His love. There is alot that can be learned in the wisdom of nature and the atmospheric pressures of this world when we open our eyes and ears to hear the Spirit of the Lord. God still speaks today in ways that we often miss because we simply don’t know how to listen…I can hear that thunder in a distance, can you? There is a train coming and we can feel it in the trembling of our bones as it is coming around the bend…Amen

Do you Seek Peace Or War?

December 1, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

Have you ever been around someone that was always complaining or someone who seemed to always stir the pot without trying to correct the issue? Have you ever lived in a home or worked in an environment where there was constant war with very little peace? There is nothing worse than to be in an atmosphere of evil spirits that create an environment of distrust and anguish. The only way to combat these evil spirits that we face on a daily basis is with the Word of God that protects us from being robbed of the joy that we carry on the inside.

As Soloman teaches us about kind words and as Jesus teaches us to love thy enemy it is our place as a child of God to counter something that is wrong in love for something that is right by God. For when we have disunity there is no harmony in the body and as Paul teaches us in 2 Corinthians 13 God will not be with us if we are not seeking peace. Without God there is no direction and without the love of Jesus there is no harmony due to the disunity.

There is music that can be heard and felt in the Spirit of God when we have unity within the body. This music is called love and it gives us an environment with strength and security for our children’s future. If you look for peace you can find peace and if you look for war you can find war. I challenge you today to look for peace in everything you do with the drive of God getting you through…Amen

We often find what we seek and this can be done in every person that we meet…
