1 Corinthians 3 Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”; 20 and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.” 21 So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, 23 and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.
Living In The Spirit
Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. 2 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. 3 You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? 4For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings?
5 What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. 6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is (anything), but only God, who makes things grow. 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor.
Make A Difference…
We must never rely solely on our own wisdom or skills. But it is equally wrong to sit and do nothing when there are still actions we can take to overcome certain problems. Do all that you can to fix the problem then trust God to do His part.
James tells us “Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.” So in other words if there is something you can do may you be encouraged today to make a positive difference in the Kingdom of God through the love of Jesus Christ…
Shake the Snake….
Yesterday we looked upon the lesson of Paul being bitten by the snake and this morning lets take this lesson a little bit further based on the needed lesson. The bible says in Acts 28 vs 6 that the people waited a long time to see what happened to Paul and after they saw that he never swelled up or suddenly dropped dead that they finally recognized his relationship with the Lord.
How does this relate with us today you may ask? Think about it! Don’t we all tend to sit back and watch the reaction of others once they get thrown into the fire or when they face trials and tribulations? It is in our human nature to allow sin to often rise up in us and look for someone to fall rather than encourageing them to stand. May I encourage you this morning to shake any snake that comes your way and to trust in God for those that have been bitten…For greater is He that is in us than He that is in this world…

The Antidote For The Venom…
In the book of Acts 28 Paul was building a fire after a ship wreck on the island of Malta. As he gathered the sticks for the fire and placed them a poisonous snake struck him on the hand. It was driven out of the fire due to the heat that was being produced. The interesting part of this lesson is how long the snake took the heat before it was time to move. Another part of this lesson was that the heat made him strike the innocent one before him but the venom from the snake had no affect on its victim.
Here is the spiritual lesson that can be applied to this message. Like the serpent in this message we can all only take so much pressure when things begin to heat up unless we are being led by Jesus Christ. The more we allow the love of God to feed our spirit the stronger our immune system is to the things of this world. We all get bitten from time to time from people that inject something of the devil or from some that never mean to bite. But if we can’t learn to shake the snake then it is only a matter of time before an infection can spread through the body.
We all face snakes everyday and if we can’t shake the snakes due to the infection within the mind then this is worse than being bit on the hand. Think about a soldier with full armor and snakes trying to get in but fail. It is what develops in his mind after what he sees that can develop a deadly disease….The only Way to overcome is through the blood of Jesus Christ that teaches us to forgive and love as we are forgiven and loved in return…Don’t allow something that is not of God to ever cause you to panic or to feel that everything is not going to be okay. For when we stay planted with God is when He will show us the Way…
