Did you know that one of the worst things that we can do is hold back someone else when they are ready to move forward? Because when we hold back someone without giving them the opportunity to go forward then we are allowing Satan to spiritually control our actions and restricting the blessings that are sure to come.
It is very easy to become blinded to our surroundings and miss what God has right before us when we allow Satan to cloud our vision. When we seek daily to stay in tune with God He helps us to be alert to our surroundings to maintain the integrity in what He has given to carry us forward. It is when we overlook what we already have that Satan often robs us of what God has given.
Are you alert to your surroundings? Are you seeking God to point out the areas that might need to be addressed? It does not take much to lose our balance when we take our eyes off of what we already have because this is what Satan spiritually desires in tearing down instead of building up. I challenge you today to learn how to build with God instead of looking for something that you already have.
Why should we ask God to bless us with something else when we are not properly using what He has already given?

It’s especially disheartening when the person holding us back is ourself. I find myself not growing, afraid to make changes, fearful of the future – and I know I am not allowing my Comforter to guide me. I am not listening for His still, quiet voice and am not hearing what He wants me to hear. I am holding myself back and then I get angry at myself for holding myself back…and, an ugly spiraling downslide begins that can only be changed by God and my submission to Him. I must remember that if He doesn’t seem to be close by; it’s isn’t Him who moved! Oh, Father, help me to overcome myself, to quiet my fears, to strengthen my heart, to submit my will, to remain close to You no matter what. In Jesus’ Precious Name, I pray.
