Jesus Take The Wheel

May 21, 2012 by admin Leave a Comment

The other morning a father was sharing with me about driving with his daughter for the 1st time since she received her drivers license. He said as they were driving down the road she continued to fight the wheel from the left to the right. She was nervous as an inexperienced driver. Finally the father said to his daughter,”Quit fighting the wheel and allow the car to drive itself.” This took trust from the father and it relieved his daughter as they then enjoyed the ride.

Immediately the Lord quickened my spirit with a message and understanding to share.”When we try to keep our hands wrapped around the wheel without trusting in God to carry us forward then we are trying to drive in self instead of allowing Jesus to take the wheel.” There is a freedom in the spirit of God that can be discovered when we learn to take our hands off and allow God’s hands to carry us forward. Many never discover this due to their own fears of losing control or for simply never giving someone a chance to take the wheel.

As the daughter understood we too should understand the purpose of the father in the car to assist her in the beginning. As the father on the other hand should recognize his part as well in learning how to let go for his daughter to drive on her own and learn trust in God who is ultimately in control. The object is recognizing the season of every child in order for them to carry out their purpose in life through the love of Jesus Christ…amen

Here is a song by Carrie Underwood titled Jesus Take The Wheel that may encourage you this morning…

Cooking With Jesus…

April 10, 2012 by admin 1 Comment

This morning as I was baking biscuits for the Outpost I began to seek the Lord in spirit for further understanding. Then as I was watching the biscuits closely He began to teach me the parallel between a chef and discipleship. For a chef knows what ingredients to add and the importance of recognizing the timing of when the food is ready to receive. This same skill is to be recognized in discipleship.

A chef also recognizes the importance of proper flames and constant heat within the preparation of the meal. Another vital part is the atmosphere of the room. The chef knows that not all sides cook the same and the object of the dish is for every side to accent the main coarse. The Lord continued to teach me in this relation to discipleship through recognizing that every biscuit is vital to watch. For not all biscuits are ready at the same time even though they stay in the oven at the same temperature. For their location within the oven plays a roll in their developing process as there is an importance in a well balanced meal as well.

There is alot of wisdom to this message that simply does not not stop when we seek God for further understanding. The vital part is recognizing that anyone can put the biscuits in the oven but who is willing to stay with them all the Way through???

I don’t know about you but there is nothing like smelling something in the oven that is being cooked in love and watching it develop over time…..The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. Revelations 22:17

The Missing Link…

April 1, 2012 by admin 4 Comments

My name is James A. Harrison Jr. and within my family heritage there are founding fathers of this nation from President William Henry Harrison and Benjamin Harrison. Secretary of State William H. Seward who purchased Alaska and many other leaders that have helped shape this nation. I have always found our family heritage interesting as I looked back in history to recognize the strengths and weaknesses within my family blood line. I can recall sitting on the front porch one day with my mother and discussing with her the patterns within my Grandfathers life and the same patterns within my own fathers as well. These patterns were not what I wanted in my life due to recognizing that there was something missing within my fathers family heritage and I was seeking for this missing link.

As a prodigal child I made many wrong steps and made some wrong decisions but it was within these trials that I discovered this missing link. I will never forget writing a letter to my father and saying,”Dad I figured it out! Do you know why you have risen and then fallen? Do you know why you have never been able to maintain what you have been given?” I then said,” The reason we have struggled for so long is because we have left GOD out of it!” Ever since this discovery of the TRUTH and why God had to send His only begotten Son Jesus Christ here to die for our sins my life has been on a road of restoration and further understanding.

As you can witness throughout this website a burning desire and call that has set up in my bones. Recently I heard these words while seeking God for further understanding. I heard the Spirit of Truth say,”What man messes up, God corrects through the blood.” I was astounded at this fact that is easy to now see due to looking back at history in order to break the pattern and move forward into the Promises of God. For there is mighty power in the blood.

Recently,  I discovered that on my mothers side of the family there was Native American blood within her family. This discovery opened my eyes further as I found it interesting to recognize the genetic make up within my blood line. Where is all of this going you might ask? This is all leading up to the roots of this nation and the importance of being grounded in the Word of God to maintain what God has given.

America has covered up the roots of our national sin without proper repentance and politicians have tried to avoid this fact for the sole purpose of their own desires. Indian Chief Joseph once said,”I believe much trouble would be saved if we opened our hearts more,” and this could not be more true.  The United States of America is facing the same pattern as my own life and it is my prayer that America WAKES UP to this TRUTH! For the longer we neglect the real issues at hand the harder the fall and the harder it will be on our children’s future.

Here are two different Youtube clips that every American should see. Please forward this to as many as you can and join me in prayer for our nation to be healed and for God’s restoration before it is too late. The first video American Holocaust of Native Americans is where it all began and the second Freedom Riders is with the injustice of the racism with the African Americans. To God be all the glory…amen

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16

Spiritual Fire…

March 5, 2012 by admin Leave a Comment

If you are on fire for the Lord and you meet someone in the darkness what would you expect to happen if you struck a match in front of their face? They will most often jump back but the question is will they return? Rather than striking a match to make them jump or feel uncomfortable allow them to simply feel the warmth from your heart which is the love of God reflecting through the light of Jesus Christ.

The love of God is what maintains the fire and the more we love Him the bigger the fire. This is where many people fail to understand what Jesus taught to the disciples in Matthew 10:16. He told them as they were going out to share the Good News, “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.”

In other words we should be wise to the spiritual maturity of the ones around us without blowing them away. We are to feed them God’s Word in love and allow the Spirit of Truth to draw them deeper into the well. There is a balance between the fire and water required in witnessing and in discipleship and this where many divisions have occurred .

For the fire without the Word is like a well without water and the deeper we dig in the well the more springs we can discover. The object is learning how to swim in the Word from the shallow end to the deep end without leaving anyone behind…amen

Thresholds Of Life…

February 19, 2012 by admin 4 Comments

Everyday we walk across thresholds into different rooms of life, but how often do stop to consider the ground that we walk upon as well as the environment within the room? Another area to consider prior to crossing the thresholds of life is to be aware of what we are taking in as well as taking out. At times, the steps we take across thresholds can be the hardest steps we ever take. Why is this you might ask? Well, think about it! Often the steps we take across thresholds lead into the unknown or they can lead us back into areas that were once disturbed. These are the very steps that are required in order for us to be set free from the spiritual bondage of Satan.

Disturbed spirits are often wounded spirits that can occur from something as simple as lack of communication, body gestures, hurtful words, actions made or from the lack of action. This barrier of sin that can separate us from the blessings of God is one of the most important thresholds to ever recognize due to the importance of mercy and grace. It is easy in our human nature to avoid specific thresholds due to the pain, the work, the humility and the forgiveness that may be required. But every time we move on without first attempting to reconcile the areas that need to be addressed and receiving the blessings of God to move forward then we are allowing Satan to have spiritual victories that can hold us back in life.

Another area of a disturbed spirit is the spirit of fear that often occurs when we are walking into the unknown. The reason many of us at times allow fear to hold us back is due to not wanting to let go and simply place our trust in the hands of God. It is in our human nature to fight for survival but when we learn to live a surrendered life of trusting in the Lord then He will show us the Way. This is a very difficult stage of the flesh due to letting go of what we see and learning how to simply trust in Him for the unknown.

Can you recall as a child when you were learning to ride a bike? Can you recall the security in the love of your parents as they helped you maintain your balance as they walked by your side? This lesson was taught by Jesus in Matthew 21:1-3. Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her (colt) by her. Untie (them) and bring (them) to me. If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs (them), and he will send (them) right away.”

What does this message teach us about thresholds you might ask? Think about it! Can you see how the actions and the reactions of the donkey could have played a roll into the new areas her colt? Do you think that maybe how she crossed certain thresholds that this could have helped her colt face its fears of the unknown? There was a comfort in the colt walking by the side of its mother as there was a comfort in knowing that our parents walked by our side as we learned to balance that bike to further the ride. The object in life is to develop a relationship with our Heavenly Father through the love of Jesus Christ and then this will cast out all fears of the unknown that can take us forward.

Knowing the ground that we walk upon and the environment in which we enter is vital to understand. For the last thing that any loving Christian should ever want is to take something into a home that could defile the body or to walk into an environment of sin that can bring an infection. This infection can happen through the lack of faith, complacency, gossip, judgement or lets simply say,”Satan.” Another object to understand is the development of our senses to good and evil through the Word of God in order to insure the steps that we take. As we mature with Christ then this cast out any fears of walking into the unknown and there should be peace in our communication because we know that He has already cleared the Way.

As God directed Moses to place the blood of the lamb on the doorpost to protect our homes Jesus taught us the importance of washing our feet. The blood covers us, the Word cleans us and the humility is what gets us in. So with all of this being said this morning lets examine our own feet in the Word of God to insure that we are not being held back at the threshold of God simply because of the step that we choose to not accept and then take. We all have thresholds to cross and the object is to insure that we are allowed in..amen
